In scenes that provoked many Iraqis during the past hours, a teacher insulted a student in one of the private institutes in Iraq.

The video, which was filmed by one of the students in the lesson, and spread widely on the communication sites sparked a widespread wave of anger, amid demands to punish the teacher so that everyone understands that the teaching profession is a moral message before education, as they said.

For his part, the Minister of Education, Ibrahim Namis Al-Jubouri, directed the formation of an urgent investigation committee into the incident in which a chemistry teacher for the sixth grade of middle school insulted male and female students in private teaching institutes.

He also stressed that “no one will be allowed to harm students, whatever the reasons, and act with them in a reckless manner,” stressing the need to preserve the sanctity of the teaching profession and the human and moral message it carries, and that whoever is involved in such actions does not deserve the educational status that it carries.

Al-Jubouri directed the closure of institutes that violate the laws of the Ministry of Education and the principles of the honor of the educational profession.

For its part, the ministry said in a statement yesterday evening that it would investigate this video, which showed “the way a teacher behaves in a way that is far from educational features.” She added that an investigation committee was urgently formed, headed by the Director of Educational Supervision and a number of legal members, and was given a 48-hour deadline to announce the results and the legal measures taken once morest the teacher.
