A police official said, “Considering that Mr. A has a history of being punished for other criminal cases in the past and that there is a risk of recidivism, we are considering sending him to the next criminal case. “In addition to the purpose of rehabilitation, we are considering all measures to prevent recurrence,” he said.
At around midnight on the 12th, security guard B was assaulted after admonishing and scolding teenagers, including A, who were engaging in deviant behavior at a commercial and residential complex in Dasan-dong, Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do.
Afterwards, when Mr. A tried to fight while swearing and threatening in informal language, Mr. B said, ‘Let’s spar’, and Mr. A mercilessly assaulted Mr. B by kicking him in the face and knocking him unconscious.

The scene of this crime was filmed on video by Mr. A’s companion, Mr. C, giggling, and posted it on social media, ridiculing the elderly and infirm for tormenting them, and made it known to the world.
The police initially closed the case when Mr. B refused to be punished, considering that assault was a crime against the will, but as public opinion grew, they reviewed the case closely and booked him for personal injury. For injuries charges, punishment is imposed even if there is an agreement.
The police believe that distributing the assault video may also constitute defamation under the Information and Communications Network Act and are also investigating Group C, who posted the video on social media.
