“Outlander” will end with season 8. Will we see a reunion with one of the historical series’ most feared villains before the finale?

- After season 8, Jamie and Claire’s time travel story ends.
- There could be a reunion with Tobias Menzies, who played two important characters in the series.
In the first seasons of “Outlander”, the ruthless officer Jonathan Randall was one of the most feared villains of the Starz series, who permanently tyrannized the lives of Claire and Jamie. Shortly before the end of the historical drama with the 8th season, many people are asking themselves whether there will be another encounter with the villain before “Outlander” finally says goodbye to us.
In an interview with US magazine “TV Line“Black Jack’s actor Tobias Menzies (“After the Assassination”) talks about a possible return of his character in order to say goodbye to Randall once and for all. But even if the actor initially has hopes of his comeback, he still rules them out.
What can I say? It would be great. But no, you won’t see me.

This statement doesn’t come as a complete surprise, after all, Claire’s husband Frank and his sadistic ancestor Back Jack have both already died. Menzies embodied the characters up to the fourth season of “Outlander” and was therefore only relevant at the beginning of the series.
Then why was there a little bit of hope? Before the end of “Outlander”, we could have seen more flashbacks from Claire’s or Jamie’s life in addition to the main plot.
Of course, Menzies’ absence from Season 8 still doesn’t rule out this, but since both Frank and Randall played a big role in Claire and Jamie’s lives, flashbacks would be incomplete without them.
But even if Menzies won’t be seen in “Outlander” again, the series will certainly still find a round conclusion. However, it is not yet known when this awaits us. Currently we are still waiting for the release of Season 7B.
