OutKick: Your Hub for Sports News, Pop Culture, and Engaging Content

Thank you for making OutKick your go-to source for fun, discussions about transgenders in sports, pop culture shenanigans, digital content, and much more

I’m thrilled to express my gratitude to those of you who place your trust in OutKick each day. We strive to be your ultimate destination for lively discussions surrounding sports, pop culture nonsense, and a plethora of captivating digital content.

I’ve shared this story previously, but it’s definitely worth reiterating for our newer followers. On June 1, 2020, I found myself among a small group of 7 or 8 individuals on a conference call when Clay officially revealed, through FaceTime, that we were about to embark on a monumental relaunch of OutKick, transforming it into a formidable force.

Fast forward to today, and it’s just Bobby Burack, Clay, and myself who remain from that pivotal moment.

Clay and I first crossed paths at the highly-publicized Battle at Bristol event during the fall of 2016. As Clay enjoyed a refreshing Michelob Ultra, I indulged in as many National Lights as I could handle because Natty Lights was the proud sponsor of my RV journey to the game.

Clay took pleasure in our tailgating experience for approximately 15 minutes before moving on to explore the wider scene.

Later in 2016 or perhaps in early 2017, Clay approached me with an intriguing proposition to collaborate on a project. At that particular moment, I was deeply invested in my beloved venture, Busted Coverage, while Clay was just beginning to navigate potential business opportunities, eager to test my interest level.

Both of us have a keen appreciation for financial success. Clay is undoubtedly money-minded, and there was an implicit agreement that we would reconnect when the time was right.

As the early months of 2020 unfolded during the onset of the COVID pandemic, Clay reached out to me again; he was primed and ready.

It was finally the moment to engage in serious business talks.

I’m in.

Cool, let’s get this show on the road.

A contract was drafted, and here we find ourselves today.

OutKick has since blossomed into a large-scale operation following its acquisition by Fox News Corp. The organization has witnessed the establishment of multiple layers of executives, including positions for overseeing other executives—a far cry from our humble beginnings. We’ve even developed a fully operational digital television department that churns out fresh content on Fox Nation every single day.

The incredible numbers we generated in October stand as a true testament to the remarkable team we’ve assembled. They also reflect the loyalty of our readers who continuously spread the word, engage with our posts, and partake in our shows.

I feel incredibly honored to be part of this dynamic operation.

Conclusion: It’s a daily occurrence where I pause to contemplate the sheer absurdity of being able to do this for a living. The gratitude I feel is boundless.

OutKick is making waves in California; we’re even reaching into the heart of San Francisco!

– Tiger Fan in SanFran, Gary, drops by with his insightful takes. I’ve elevated his contribution today as he resides in San Francisco. Imagine being an OutKick fan living in that city:

– Go Army (Grandfather and Great Uncle both fought valiantly in WWII).

– NIL has irrevocably altered college football. Sure, players should be compensated, but they shouldn’t possess more free agency rights than professional athletes. It’s disappointing that the local district court has marred a sport that many in our region are indifferent towards. Add college football to the list of things the left has tarnished.

– The best hotel breakfast can be found at the Courtyard by Marriott.

– I’m concerned that the media is already laying the groundwork to set President Trump up for failure. If they actually allowed him to perform his duties, the improvements to this country might genuinely astonish people.

– As a father of daughters, I will fiercely advocate for their right to a locker room free from boys.

Army vs. Notre Dame…make sure you’re aligned with the right side of history tonight!

– Rob M. responds to Beer Guy Neil from Cleveland:

Neil, kudos on your Notre Dame education; the institution is undoubtedly reputable. That said, we need to confront the reality:

– Notre Dame has thrived due to its contractual arrangements with a television network. Back in the days of limited channels, it was akin to the Braves on TBS or the Cubs on WGN—there was no option but to watch.

– The last time Notre Dame clinched a National Championship was back in 1988 (36 years ago). This gap spans two entire generations of college football fans who have never witnessed an Irish title win. The last time they were truly relevant was in 2012, when they were thoroughly defeated by Alabama. More fans recall that game than Notre Dame’s glory days because of the infamous Manti Te’o saga (do we really want to revisit that? Who among us hasn’t had an imaginary girlfriend?)

– In final thoughts, tremendous fan base and a storied university, but if “eyeballs” define a team’s relevance, Notre Dame has lost its spark. They’re like the middle-aged, twice-divorced high school cheerleader lingering in the corner of a bar on a Thursday night, desperately seeking attention. Mildly appealing, but peaked in high school. Remember, never peak in high school—the only way is down from there.

Go Army!

– Vance and his fellow Marines have arrived:

As a Marine veteran, I certainly understand the excitement surrounding Army’s cause. Yet, as someone who closely follows Notre Dame, I don’t foresee this game being competitive. Bookmark this.

Final score prediction: Notre Dame 38, Army 17.

Semper Fi and Go Irish!

– Millennial Dalton D. from South of Crater Lake asserts he will be on the right side of history tonight! Just so you know!

I’m gearing up to start installing the two Costco double vanities this weekend. Pray for me!

Go Army! Can you imagine them crashing the playoffs while Trump shows up, and Biden is fast asleep in Delaware? The mere thought sends shivers down my spine!

Even better—Trump leads the Golden Knights out from the tunnel! The Auburn War Eagle is on loan, soaring over the stadium (although they won’t need it…) while Trump plants the American flag at midfield! Putin might make it happen, but in America, anything is possible! True red-blooded American men spontaneously charge through their living room walls, so hyped up they can barely contain themselves, leaving the Chi Comms no choice but to concede.

This isn’t just a fantasy—it’s a thrilling possibility.

Kinsey:

I sincerely hope the Boomers were paying close attention to that entire email. Dalton D. could have easily stayed home, luxuriating in front of the TV with football all day. Instead, he’s diving into that bathroom project his wife had hoped would be completed before the holiday season.

I’m telling you, this guy has the making of a rising star in the Screencaps community.

Share your experiences from the Battle of the Bulge battlefields

– Mark in SE Missouri shares:

It would be great if you could pose a question out to the SC community regarding anyone’s visits to the Battle of the Bulge area. I’ve visited the hills above Foy, Belgium, where the 101st held their ground during that infamous battle in the Ardennes.

This place resonates with a somber and eerily quiet atmosphere that’s unmatched in my experiences. I’m certain others in our community have shared similar feelings. Compiling these stories could yield a compelling edition of SC.

Screencaps readers encourage Cowboys fan Derek G. to attend the Thanksgiving game, even though it’ll feature a matchup of backup QBs

Derek G. has yet to experience a Cowboys game live and expressed concerns that his initial outing should feature legitimate competition. However, the Screencaps community tells him that thinking like that is simply poison.

– Kevin in Gibsonia, PA advises Derek:

This might seem straightforward, but the core reason to attend the Cowboys game is that it’s something he genuinely wants to do—and he has the chance! I once traveled to Tennessee just to witness them decimate Kent State by over 70 points. Sure, the game was far from thrilling, but the experience was incredible! Last Black Friday, I journeyed to Detroit for my first time to see PSU dismantle MSU. The game was dull, but the atmosphere was electric!

Occasionally, I’ll impulsively drive to Baltimore or Cleveland, regardless of who’s playing, just to soak in the baseball ambiance. Life should be enjoyable! That’s our motivation for putting in the weekly grind and completing chores! Live your life and cherish these moments while you still can. It’s really that simple.

– Mark from SE Missouri chimes in:

Derek G. should indeed attend this game! It’s a bucket list opportunity, it’s happening on Thanksgiving, and Jerry World is a sight to behold, even if the Cowboys aren’t compelling.

For instance, my brother and I opted to skip Thanksgiving dinner to attend a game at Arrowhead in 2006. Nearly 20 years later, we still recall it as ‘that unforgettable Thanksgiving’—a story that lives on in infamy at our family’s dining table.

– Steve B., who crafted a Hallmark Christmas movie screenplay, offers keen insight to Derek:

Outstanding contributions this week.

I was only nine when my Broncos fell to the Cowboys in the 1978 Super Bowl—the first time I vividly remember shedding tears. I can’t believe I’m imploring Cowboy fan Derek G. to, of all things, GO TO THE GAME!

Believe it or not, tickets are just $20!

To provide some perspective, I shelled out $320 per ticket for four seats in the nosebleed section in January 2022. That didn’t even cover the flights, hotel fees, dining out, etc. Furthermore, after dodging COVID for nearly two years, I caught the virus during our Jerry’s World trip.

But honestly, it was absolutely worth it. The stadium and ambiance are incredible. Derek, when you find yourself on your deathbed, you will cherish memories like these (unless, of course, you happen to meet your end in a car accident on the way to the stadium).

A final note: In August 1964, my dad sold a concert ticket for which he paid $6.60 because “something came up.” That concert was The Beatles at Red Rocks.

You don’t reckon he has any regrets, do you? I’m not saying that Cooper Rush vs. Tommy Devito compares to the Fab Four, but life is too short not to check off those bucket list items before it’s too late.

Duck season excitement unfolds

– Hunter shared an email at 7:19 a.m. ET, clearly knowing I’d be rolling out Saturday Screencaps:

Not trying to ignite another content sunrise, but I simply have to share this breathtaking opening morning of duck season photo from Arkansas. It’s hard to top this one!

Transformed Pizza Huts

– Richard from SC writes in:

I noticed the earlier discussion about the stunningly renovated former Pizza Hut in Dyrty Myrtle. While it may be deemed the “most beautiful,” I’d argue that the title actually goes to NICO in Mount Pleasant, SC. This establishment has undergone multiple renovations since being a Pizza Hut, but NICO executed the updates flawlessly without losing its original Hut character. The restaurant enjoys thriving business, and the food is top-notch, albeit on the pricier side (which is typical in Charleston).

Shorty carts at the state store

– Tim C. checks in:

On a different note, I’ve come across shorty carts at the state store.

So, shorty carts at the state store work just fine. Might we see a full-sized cart in your future with a possible AAA membership?

Kinsey:

I recall Arthur mentioning that his grocery store only stocks full-sized SUV-style grocery carts. That genuinely makes me sympathize with older patrons struggling to navigate those cumbersome beasts.

Friday night in Eagle, Idaho

– Mike T. enjoyed a delightful 61-degree evening:

#########################

That’s a wrap for this Saturday. I’m officially off the clock for the weekend, and it feels fantastic. Time to tackle some household chores and catch some football.

Thank you for your unwavering loyalty to me and OutKick. I’ve felt that this week ranks among my favorites since June 2020. From engaging digital shows to six installments of Screencaps, the energy has been remarkable.

Let’s make the most of this weekend. Go out and enjoy life.
