A confirmed case of tuberculosis disease and another in the process of biological confirmation were detected among the people occupying the Place des Amandiers in Cayenne.
Sick people were isolated and put on treatment. The investigation into these two cases is underway and screening operations for all contact cases will be finalized in the coming days.
For these two cases of tuberculosis identified among the asylum seekers at Place des Amandiers, the treatment
medical burden is ensured by the Infectious and Tropical Diseases Unit (UMIT) and management measures
operational are ensured by the Anti-Tuberculosis Center (CLAT) of the French Red Cross of
Guyana in conjunction with the health monitoring and security center of ARS Guyana.
Widespread screening is underway in order to identify any possible tuberculosis infection and ensure proper treatment.
