At the same time, a protection zone (3 kilometers around the house) and a surveillance area (10 kilometers) will be established. To control the risk of virus transmission, the movement of poultry is prohibited in these areas, strict hygiene measures must be observed, and farm monitoring must be strengthened.
As a result of this detection, France lost its status as “highly pathogenic avian influenza-free”. This status can be restored 28 days after cleaning and disinfection operations are completed and there are no new outbreaks. The risk level for the disease remains ‘negligible’ Whole territoryAccording to the same source, this has been the case since May 3, 2024.
