This Tuesday the multiple Cy Young Award winner and New York Mets pitcher, Max Scherzer, experienced one of the most uncontrolled episodes in his career by allowing three home runs in a row during a 9-0 blowout loss to the Milwaukee Brewers.
A sixth-inning home-run party led by Rowdy Tellez, Brian Anderson and Garrett Mitchell was the last straw for Scherzer, who already had to deal with two runs down in just the first inning.
As rarely seen, three pitches in the middle of the zone ended the start of the New York star.
However, this was not the first time that the right-hander has received three home runs in a row. On July 21, 2017, in a game once morest the Arizona Diamondbacks, he also received three home runs.
On that occasion it was also surprising that Scherzer received a ‘back to back to back‘ considering he was on his way to his second Cy Young Award pitching for the Washington Nationals.
