In March of this year, the restaurant seemed to be on solid ground: The then CEO Marcus Bernhardt was almost enthusiastic: “We congratulate Patrick Bittner on this award,” said Bernhardt on the confirmed Michelin star, which the top chef once once more awarded to the renowned restaurant had secured. “He is a real figurehead for our Steigenberger Icons brand and stands for a modern approach to the art of cooking. He will certainly set new accents and impulses in the future when it comes to further expanding quality paired with culinary delights and excellence and makes our Steigenberger Icon in Frankfurt a true icon.”
Patrick Bittner has been head chef at the Français in the Steigenberger Frankfurter Hof since 2000. In addition to the star in the Michelin Guide, he has also been awarded 17 points in the Gault Millau for his culinary art in the Français.
What’s next?
“We are also in talks with Patrick Bittner and would like to listen to his ideas,” press spokesman Sven Hirschler told the AHGZ. The reason for this optimization measure is certainly the recent change in management at Deutsche Hospitality: Oliver Bonke has been its CEO since April. Whether the traditional star restaurant in Frankfurt will reopen in the course of this year – and if so, in what form – is not yet certain.
