A search operation in the Glanegg/Kadöll area came to a happy end on Thursday. A 72-year-old woman from Klagenfurt had been missing since Wednesday followingnoon. The search had to be called off on Wednesday evening due to heavy rain. At 7 a.m. on Thursday, the alarm was raised once more.
“180 forces went on the search,” says Manuel Töplitzer, commander of FF Glanegg/Maria Feicht. In addition to firefighters, search teams from mountain rescue, dog squadrons and the police were also deployed. After regarding 1.5 hours, the good news: The 72-year-old from Klagenfurt was found near a farm. A farmer who was doing field work had discovered the woman in the area of a corn field. “We don’t yet know where she was looking for shelter that night,” said Töplitzer.
The woman is said to have only been out with slippers. She should be slightly hypothermic, but responsive. The woman was taken to the Klagenfurt clinic by the rescue service.
