Through the official website for the anime adaptation of the manga written and illustrated by Sousuke Tooka, Ousama Ranking (Ranking of Kings), a new promotional video for the special episode previously announced for the franchise was shared under the title “Yuki no Takarabako (Treasure Chest of Courage)”. In this preview it is revealed that the project will premiere on April 13 on television in Japan. Although since the initial announcement of this new project it has been handled as a “special episode”, the website states that it will air “broadcast every Thursday” from the aforementioned date, which confirms that the anime would have more one episode long.
In this new preview, the musical themes of the anime are also revealed. The opening will be in charge of the band PEOPLE 1 and will be titled “GOLD”. On the other hand, the ending will be performed by the singer Aimer with her single “Atemonaku”.
It should be remembered that this project will have several episodes and will present us with a story not seen in the anime adaptation.

- Taku Kishimoto (Boku dake ga Inai Machi, Fugou Keiji: Balance: Unlimited, Haikyuu!!) is in charge of writing and supervising the scripts.
- Atsuko Nozaki (Eiyuu Densetsu: Sora no Kiseki The Animation, Tokyo Magnitude 8.0) is in charge of character design and animation direction.
- MAYUCO (Hataraku Saibou, Miira no Kaikata) is in charge of composing the soundtrack.
Touka began publishing the manga independently through the portal. Manga Hack and other services in May 2017. Subsequently, the publisher Kadokawa began its publication on paper in the direct format of compiled volumes in February 2019. The work inspired a twenty-three episode anime adaptation produced by WIT Studio and premiered during the season of Autumn-2021 (October-December).
Ousama Ranking synopsis
The people of the kingdom despise the young prince Bojji, who cannot hear or speak. They call him “The Useless Prince” while making fun of his supposed stupidity. However, even though Bojji is not physically strong, he is not weak at heart. When a chance encounter with a shadow creature should have left him traumatized, he leads her to believe instead that he has found a friend among those who only choose to notice his flaws. He begins to meet Kage, the shadow, regularly, to the point that even the otherwise abrasive creature begins to warm to him. Kage and Bojji’s unlikely friendship sets the stage for the prince’s journey, in which he tries to overcome his fears and insecurities. Despite the constant taunts he faces, Bojji is determined to fulfill his wish to become the best king he can be.
