Our marine spill capacity is up to 300,000 barrels per day

Vice President of Industrial Services at Saudi Aramco, Fahad Al-Abdulkarim, spoke regarding the company’s expansion in marine business, including the size of ships involved in offshore services.

In an interview with “Al Arabiya”, Abdel Karim indicated that the volume of exports will also be expanded with the increase in the volume of exports Saudi Aramco’s production capacity.

He added that oil tankers will have a role in this field.

Abdul Karim revealed that Aramco has several dimensions in the maritime sector in the future, including the localization of the sector, whether through industrialization or Saudization.

He stated that Aramco has undertaken huge initiatives in the manufacture of ships, including the King Salman Complex for Maritime Industries in Ras Al-Khair, as well as the new complex for the manufacture of iron sheets and machinery.

He stated that Aramco has a leading role in preserving the marine environment, noting that the capacity to transport oil spills in the sea was 50,000 barrels per day 5 years ago, and it has risen to 300,000 barrels per day now.

He referred to Aramco’s plans to raise its naval capacity to lift the spills to 500,000 barrels per day within two years from now.
