On June 19, a tragedy occurred when a plane from Spain landed on the tarmac at Zaventem. Julienne, a 73-year-old Belgian, did not wake up following falling asleep during the flight. On June 21, she lost her life at UZ Brussel. After the death of his wife, Leo was expectant: he waited for long weeks for his luggage, as well as that of his late wife.
“The hostess took pictures of our tickets and our luggage numbers. She told us not to worry and that our luggage would be left at the house in Ham, ”laments the husband of the deceased to HBVL. “We landed on June 19. In the meantime, we are more than two weeks later and our luggage is still missing. Especially my wife’s luggage, I want to get it back as soon as possible. In her bag, there are all sorts of personal things that mean a lot to me: her watch, a few necklaces. These are the last things I have left of Julienne”.
The TUI spokesperson explains “the fact that the suitcases of Leo and his wife have not yet been found is the result of a purely administrative problem”. But all’s well that ends well: Leo was able to collect his luggage last Thursday, conclude our colleagues.
