“Our leader is strong, America will be too” –

Donald Trump’s Little Italy has no doubts: his return to the White House is written in the stars. Because the images of the 45th president, miraculously surviving the attack during the rally in Pennsylvania, raising his fist as he is carried away bleeding, are a sign for the destiny of the United States. “If the leader is strong, America will be strong too”, the Italian Americans who are crowding Republican circles in these hours continue to repeat. And they are not surprised that they tried to kill Trump, given the climate of hatred for USA 2024 and the polarization that has been marked since the Barack Obama era. The Tycoon had been in the crosshairs for some time and those who frequent the good salons of US politics were only waiting for some fanatic to take up a rifle. “We knew it would happen, but we had no idea where and when. On the day of the rally we breathed a sigh of relief when we saw Donald get up from the ground, having escaped death and stronger than before”, they underline. And it is no coincidence that Trump-mania has exploded in the US: the evocative photo of Donald with a clenched fist has gone down in history, becoming a must-have, on t-shirts, mugs, and drinks. Objects with the surviving president are selling like hotcakes, just as fundraising initiatives and vote counting to be cast on the Republican are multiplying.

“The numbers tell us that today Trump has between four and five points more in the presidential elections. If before it was a done deal, now the victory is a foregone conclusion. It may seem simplistic, but in the United States they vote for a commander in chief. And with that photograph he has become a myth”, assures the deputy of Fratelli d’Italia, Andrea Di Giuseppe, elected in North and Central America. Di Giuseppe is planning a series of meetings to give The Donald a boost. From Miami to Brooklyn, from Dallas to Chicago, up to the northeast: there are over 16 million Italians who in November will be called to indicate the name of the 47th president. “It is the largest cluster there is, mostly center-right, and we can move an election, because for the first time Fdi has its own elected representative in the USA. We will give the victory to Trump”, announces Di Giuseppe. “After what we have experienced in the last three years, it was normal that someone would try to kill the Tycoon. But the attack has produced the opposite effect: the moderate part of the independents will vote for Trump. This is a fundamental element”, explains Di Giuseppe, “as well as the fact that there are 2/3 of the Chambers under elections. With a Republican president and a Republican Supreme Court, if the majority of the Chambers is Republican, in terms of constitutional reforms America will be able to do anything”.

The FdI deputy is convinced that Biden will be replaced during the race, even if the issue of who can be sacrificed once morest Trump remains. “The issue is no longer whether he will win, but with what consensus. Trump’s real checkmate is having won over the blue-collar workers who previously voted Democrat,” Di Giuseppe specifies. “Now 80 percent of them vote Donald. Which is what Meloni did, faced with a PD that is no longer working-class but from a restricted traffic zone. And when Trump wins, who will he talk to in a weak Europe? Only with Giorgia Meloni. She is the only privileged interlocutor of the USA. Trump himself defined her as “trustble”, or “credible””. Finally, the international issue. “People can’t take it anymore, finance has run its course and must give way to industry, to what creates wealth. Trump wins because he is the only president among the last four who has made people see first-hand what he has done for the citizens. He faced a pandemic, he defused three international crises, North Korea, China and Turkey. And if he had been there, there would not have been these two wars either”, concludes Di Giuseppe.
