Our Lady of Carmen School celebrated 90 years of educating and promoting faith

Under the motto 90 years of education and evangelization, the Colegio Nuestra Señora del Carmen Educational Unit in Cumaná celebrated its anniversary with a program where meetings filled with joy and faith were the protagonists.

During the months of May, June and July, activities were carried out such as the coronation of the Virgin, the election of the godmother, a novena in honor of the Virgin of Carmen, a meeting of alumni and closing of projects that highlighted the history of this institution throughout this time.

Sister Julielvis López, Pastoral Coordinator, said that the various activities sought not only to celebrate the 90th anniversary of the foundation but also to promote moments of closeness among all those who live in this training house.

“Creating spaces where parents, students and staff of Las Carmelitas can share and renew faith as a family will always be the guiding light of our journey,” said the nun.

Among the other activities that took place as part of the anniversary, a thanksgiving mass was held by Monsignor Jesús Gonzalez de Zárate, who expressed his gratitude for having always been welcomed with open arms by this congregation.

Likewise, a procession was held through the streets of the city, carrying the image of the Virgin of Carmen as patron saint of the institution, accompanied by the community.

Finally, the school auditorium was filled with colour and joy with the presentation of cultural and musical events led by the students and their teachers, with a special participation of the Banda Show Carmelitas.
