Intelligent transmission and distribution network supports easy control of electricity

In an interview with Al-Arabiya, the head of the Khaled Fahd Al-Boaiz Holding Group, Khaled Al-Boaiz revealed the acceleration of the localization of energy efficiency and renewable energy technologies in Saudi Arabia, with partners from Europe, China and India.

He said that Saudi Arabia is working on installing smart devices for distribution in the electrical network, adding: “We are contributing to this project with investments estimated at 350 million riyals in terms of distribution and smart transmission of electricity.”

He added that with the completion of the smart electricity transmission system in the Kingdom, it allows the energy provider to easily control the distribution of electricity between different regions according to the loads.

He revealed that regarding 10 million electric meters were installed locally in Saudi Arabia in 2020, and the share of “Al-Baiz” Holding amounted to regarding 1.7 million meters.

Al-Baiz indicated that the holding supplies the Saudi Electricity Company with more than 150 locally made products in the Kingdom, which have been tested in international laboratories and centers.
