Valencia becomes the fifth city served following Madrid, Zaragoza, Tarragona and Barcelona.
After Barcelona and Valencia, OUIGO Spain will open a new route to Alicante in the first half of 2023, with a stop in Albacete.
This line is equipped with a different safety system from the two previous lines (ERTMS2), which requires different train certification, informs the company.
“The next few months will therefore be devoted to adapting trains and training drivers, in compliance with the safety standards required by the Spanish authorities.”
Two daily return trips will be offered between Alicante and Madrid-Chamartín-Clara-Campoamor.
Then, OUIGO Spain will arrive in Andalusia with Madrid-Seville and will offer five round trips with a stop in Cordoba.
Eventually, OUIGO Spain will offer up to 30 daily departures across Spain.
