The communal council of Ouezzane called on the inhabitants of the city to apply the council’s decision to unify the color of the facades of houses and buildings in the city. While the city of Chefchaouen is adorned in blue and white, Ouezzane wants to unify with buildings painted in white and olive green.

Thus, the municipal council plans to implement this decision which was made during the ordinary session of February 21, 2020 relating to the coating and unification of the color of the facades of buildings, doors and windows of the city, indicates a memo released Tuesday by the chairman of the board. This decision stipulated the use of white for the facades of houses and olive green for doors and windows.

The municipal council thus invited citizens to opt for white instead of brick red or another color for painting the facades of buildings, noting that the decision concerns all buildings, whatever their activity, with the exception of archaeological buildings and institutions distinguished by a united color at the national level.

This measure will help to beautify the neighborhoods and alleys of the city of Ouezzane, argues the municipal council, and to enhance its tourist potential, in order to make it a privileged destination for tourists, like Chefchaouen.

It should be noted that several pilot projects of coating and unification of the color of the facades of buildings of several districts of Ouezzane will be carried out, within the framework of the program “Awrach”.
