The municipal and national police forces and the firefighters cleared out the occupants of the cattle market on the site of the Ouaga-inter bus station in a joint and unexpected operation this Saturday, April 15, 2023.
Equipment and livestock were seized and impounded.
The municipal police accuse traders and livestock dealers of having remained illegally on the site of the station despite two press releases from the president of the special delegation of the municipality of Ouagadougou, in April and then in July 2022, inviting them to vacate the premises and to move to the new site of Lanoag-yiri in district 11, fitted out for their benefit.
Several steps have also been taken by the municipal authority to curb the situation but have remained in vain, according to the communication department of the municipal police.
“It is in spite of its two press releases and the various attempts for a consensus that the municipal police, in collaboration with the other forces carried out this eviction operation”, indicates the municipality which encourages the population to cooperate with the forces of safety in order to avoid any inconvenience.
