The Politics of Batik: Prabowo’s Ministerial Candidates
Jakarta – In a delightful turn of political attire and alliances, prominent lawyer Otto Hasibuan was spotted making his way into the domicile of President-elect Prabowo Subianto. Dressed to impress in a splendid brown and cream batik, Otto swaggered into Prabowo’s residence like he just won the latest fashion week. Style points awarded!
On the scene at Prabowo’s residence on Jalan Kertanegara, South Jakarta, detikcom didn’t miss a beat as Otto made his entrance around 15:06 WIB. With a smile that could charm a cat off a fish wagon, Otto strolled in, presumably wondering if he was entering a political meeting or a couture show.
But wait, there’s more! As if summoned by the sheer charisma of Otto, the President’s Special Staff, Diaz Hendropriyono, graced us with his presence shortly after. Following close behind were Prima Party Chairman Agus Jabo and Gerindra Party politician Ferry Juliantono, who all probably had their own tailored attire, feeling like Posh Spice at a reunion tour!
Things escalated quickly—just when you thought the guest list couldn’t get any more impressive, the Director General of Immigration, Silmy Karim, popped by. Because who doesn’t love a party with a bit of legal oversight? They all paraded into the residence, ready to discuss plans for the new government, perhaps while admiring each other’s batik. *Who wore it better?* is literally the name of the game.
Earlier in the week, Prabowo called upon potential ministers, confirming their willingness to serve. He assured everyone that the ministerial candidates were “ready to help.” Quite the motivational speech, Prabowo! Those candidates might even have been on the fence until someone said, “You’ll get a fancy title and a nice office!” And suddenly, they all declared, “Sign me up!”
“Thank God, everyone said they were able,” Prabowo proudly announced, probably taking a moment to shrug off the stress of government formation like a pro. Could this be the beginning of a government that actually functions? Or will it be more like a sitcom—an ensemble cast fumbling towards success with charm as their only weapon?
