Otis Livingston II comes from Crailsheim

After signing head coach Mladen Drijencic, medi bayreuth has now made further improvements on the floor in the relegation battle. Otis Livingston II changes from the HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim to medi. The 1.80 meter tall point guard receives a contract until the end of the season.

The 26-year-old’s contract includes a clause that excludes the American from playing in the second leg in the Hohenlohe Arena in Crailsheim (the date for this game has not yet been set). “Of course we would have liked to see Otis play all 14 games left this season, but the player market is very difficult at the moment. Being able to bring a player of his quality to Bayreuth, who also already knows the league, is by no means a matter of course at this point in the season, but it is precisely these factors that persuaded us to accept this clause as well,” says medi bayreuth Managing Director Johannes Feuerpfeil.

Mladen Drijencic (Head Coach medi bayreuth) says:

“First of all, I would like to thank the club management for getting Otis signed. With him we now have an additional, creative guard on the team who can support Brandon in this part in the future. Otis is ready to play for us with full commitment and will give the team more potential and take our offense to another level. Signing him is the best solution we might find at the moment because he comes from ongoing training, knows the league and will certainly help us. In our conversations I noticed that he is ready to tackle this difficult situation with us, that he wants to prove himself in this league and that he wants to reach a higher level.”

That’s what Otis Livingston II (Point Guard) said:

“My move to Bayreuth gives me the opportunity to continue my career at easyCredit BBL and play for a club that is motivated and hungry for wins. During our conversation, the coach convinced me of his plan for the club, that with hard work and team spirit we can really make a difference. I want to show and give my best here, both as a person and as a player on the field. The fans can expect me to give 100 percent and play with passion and determination to help the team win.”

After Denmark, Macedonia and Serbia now in Germany

So far this season, Otis Livingston II has featured in 17 of the Wizards’ 20 BBL games at the HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim. He was in the starting lineup twice and contributed an average of 12.9 points, 2.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists in 22:18 minutes. The build-up player also scored a double-digit number of points with the Merlins internationally (11.7p). In 12 games in the FIBA Europe Cup, he also grabbed 2.3 rebounds and gave out an average of 2.6 assists.

Before his time in Crailsheim, the American played in Serbia for KK Mladost, where he drew attention to himself with impressive numbers (17.3p/3.2r/6.2a). Otis received his basketball training at George Mason University. He was on the floor for the Patriots for four years and played a total of 132 games from 2015 to 2019 in which he ended up with an average of 14.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, 3.7 assists and an almost 86 percent free throw rate.

After college, Otis moved from Virginia to Denmark, where he began his professional career on the east coast of Jutland in Horsens in 2019. He played a strong rookie season with the Danes (22 games: 12.2p/2.9r/5.0a) and then moved to Macedonia. There he was under contract with KK Kumanovo for one season (25 games: 18.8p/2.8r/6.3a) before moving to Serbia for the 2021/22 season.
