Stefan Kraft was once once more the best at ski jumping in Ruka on Sunday. The Salzburger, who had already won the start of the new season the day before, prevailed in the changing conditions ahead of his ÖSV teammate Jan Hörl, with the German Andreas Wellinger third. Kraft achieved his 100th World Cup podium and 32nd victory.
After a leap of 148.5 meters (“I think that was really the perfect jump”), Kraft went into the second round with a 13-point lead. There he repeated the distance and was 22.6 points ahead of Hörl in the end. The third place at halftime (144.5/145 meters) was on the podium for the fourth time in an individual competition.
Four Austrians were involved in the decision, all of them made it into the top ten. Daniel Tschofenig took seventh place, Michael Hayböck came tenth. Manuel Fettner and Clemens Aigner fell by the wayside in the first round.
