The whole thing lasted about 30 seconds, but Sunday’s incident will remain in the memory of the residents of Oserdów and the surrounding area for a long time. Witnesses of the event report what happened when a rocket launched by the Russian Federation flew over a village located a few hundred meters from the Ukrainian border. Preliminary findings show that the missile crossed Polish airspace, entering from the north-east and leaving it from the south-east.
The incident took place at 4:23 on Sunday morning. Then Henryk Zdyb, the village head of Oserdów, left the house and saw a light in the sky, and later heard a characteristic sound. – I saw a rapidly moving object in the sky, it was illuminated, it was flying quite low over the border with Ukraine. It was such a sharp, metallic sound. Permeating the entire body – he reported in an interview with “Wyborcza”.

He added that after a while he heard an explosion. – After it flew over Oserdów, I heard a bang, but it was on the Ukrainian side. As if something had exploded. I didn’t notice any smoke. It was probably too far away, said the village head.
The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement on this matter. The ministry announced that Poland would demand explanations from the Russian Federation. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrzej Szejna announced that the Russian ambassador would be summoned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and a protest note would be delivered to him.
The spokesman of the Operational Command of the Armed Forces informed that it was one of the cruise missiles directed by the long-range aviation of the Russian Federation towards the western part of Ukraine. The missile moved at a speed of nearly 800 km/h and flew at an altitude of approximately 400 meters. The flight through Polish airspace lasted 39 seconds.
