Oscar Stembridge in the quarter-finals of America’s Got Talent

During the summer, 16-year-old Swedish artist Oscar Stembridge continued in the American television program America’s Got Talent. Now it is also clear that he is competing in one of the quarter-finals in the next phase of the talent competition.

Oscar, who performed the self-written song in the competition What If was greeted by cheers from the audience and nice words from, among others, the jury’s Simon Cowell, who called the performance “a brilliant audition”.

Last week it was announced which 44 acts have progressed to the quarter-finals, which will take place over the next four weeks, and Oscar Stembridge is among them. The live broadcasts start on August 13 on American NBC and a few hours later Swedish viewers can watch them America’s Got Talents YouTubekanal.

Three out of eleven acts each week are voted into the semi-finals by viewers, while one person on the jury has the opportunity to send a contestant straight to the final with the show’s famous Golden Buzzer.

Oscar Stembridge started performing at the age of 6 and at the age of seven he posted covers online that were shared by legendary groups such as Queen and Aerosmith. Around the turn of the year 2021/22, he released his debut EP Thir13en which, among other things, led to him receiving the award Newcomer of the Year on Denniz Pop Awardsas the youngest recipient npgonson.

Stembridge is the second Swedish artist ever to advance in America’s Got Talent. Chris Klafford made it to the semifinals of the 2019 competition.
