Just over two million kroner in unpaid debts is the reason why the Swedish Tax Agency yesterday requested the property company Oscar Properties Holding into bankruptcy. The Expressen reports.

In the bankruptcy application to the district court, the agency writes:

“Oscar Properties Holding AB currently has known debts to the state totaling SEK 2,028,730.”

The bailiff has tried to collect the money but has not found enough garnishable assets to pay the entire debt.

The property company is known for several exclusive housing developments in Stockholm but also for having serious financial problems.

Oscar Properties Holding’s new CEO, Richard Bagge, did not know that the Swedish Tax Agency had filed for bankruptcy before he read it in Expressen:

– We are working on a reconstruction application, which I believe we submitted today. If it is granted, this debt must be handled within the framework of that. If the restructuring application is not granted, then of course there will be bankruptcy, says Bagge to the newspaper.
