Oscar Awards will let Will Smith mark his statuette for ‘best actor’

The president of the organization made an offer to the actor, following he was prohibited from entering the ceremony for his slapping Chris Rock in 2022.

One more time, The Dolby Theater in Los Angeles hosted the most acclaimed movie celebrities at its 95th edition of the Hollywood Film Academy Awards. One of the most anticipated days for millions of movie fans has arrived. Starting at 4 in the followingnoon, multiple celebrities paraded along the carpet, which, this time, was not red but champagne.

Various celebrities such as Cara Delevingne, Elizabeth Olsen, Sofía Carson, Jamie Lee Curtis, Vanessa Hudgens, among others, wore their outfits. Cate Blanchett, Steven Spielberg y Ana de Armas, were some of the most nominated stars of the night.

One of the traditions of the Oscar Awards gala is that the celebrities who won in the ‘Best Actress’ and ‘Best Actor’ categories of the previous edition return to award the award to their successors.

That event became quite a controversy and, although the actor apologized, he was banned by the Academy to attend the ceremony for ten years.

Will Smith will be able to record his name on the Oscar for ‘Best Actor’

After what happened last year at the Oscars ceremony, Will Smith never got to mark his statuette. Before carrying out the 95th edition, the Academy, headed by its president Janet Yang, announced that, despite the aggression and the veto that the Hollywood star has, he will be able to record his name, like the other winners, a gesture that is applauded by many of the actor’s fans.

“He won the Oscar, so it should have his name on it. I don’t know if I should come personally but yes, we can manage it”, assured in the podcast Awards Chatter.

In the same way, Janet remembered how that moment was lived. “When Will came on stage we were like everybody, ‘oh, this is funny.’ ‘He’s going to pretend to slap him and Chris is going to be stunned.’ And then it was like ‘okay, it’s over’. And he went back to his seat and started yelling… that’s when, of course, everybody said ‘oh my god, this is real’”.
