This Sunday at the Oscars, Argentina, 1985 lost in the category for Best International Film against the German Nothing new on the front. The host of the awards and producer of the Argentine film Axel Kuschevatzky spoke after the final decision and, far from being angry, he was deeply grateful.
“Thank you for so much love, so much passion and for letting us tell such a wonderful, relevant story and, above all, ours,” the filmmaker began by writing in a tweet that has already received more than eight thousand likes.
And then he closed by saying: “The one from Argentina, 1985 It is an amazing journey and a way to seek to build a collective memory. This gratitude is infinite”. The message came in tune with the words that Santiago Miter shared on his Instagram account, hours before the start of the Oscars.
