On June 24th, Osaka Metro held a departure ceremony for the new Chuo Line 400 series trains at Morinomiya Station.

New model 400 series with futuristic design
The new model 400 series, which will start operating on June 25th, was developed as a new-generation train at the Osaka/Kansai Expo. In addition to following the company’s barrier-free efforts, such as lowering the floor of the train and clarifying priority seats, we have further improved safety and passenger service, and in the event of an emergency, the inside of the train can be checked from the driver’s cabin. Security cameras are installed, operation guidance is provided in four languages using a wide liquid crystal display, air purifiers are installed in all vehicles, and in-vehicle Wi-Fi is installed. It features a futuristic design with LED headlights and taillights placed at the four corners, and the front is made of glass and has a perspective shape, which is reminiscent of a spaceship.
