The trials will take place on February 3, 2024, and the top three from the men’s and women’s races who meet the qualifying performance standards will be selected for the 2024 Olympic team.
Orlando is the first city in Florida to host the event. This will be the 15th time the men’s marathon trials have been held, with the first in Alamosa, Colorado in August 1968. This will be the 11th time the women’s marathon team has been selected in a trials event. The inaugural Women’s Marathon Trials were held in Olympia, Washington in May 1984. It is also the longest between a Trials Marathon and the Olympic Games Marathon.
America’s top runners will compete for coveted spots on the U.S. Olympic Team, with the top three men and top three women meeting qualifying performance standards representing Team USA at the Paris Olympics.
The first favorites are Emily Sisson and Keira D’Amato, who this year became the two fastest American marathon runners in history, and Galen Rupp, Conner Mantz and Scott Fauble, among the men.
