Orlando Bloom’s Nude Paddleboarding Incident: Katy Perry Reflects on the Unforgettable Vacation Moment

Summer and vacations often rhyme with sunbathing on the beach. But it is still important to be careful to always keep your swimsuit on. Or at least not to get photographed nude during a moment of relaxation, or while paddle boarding like Orlando Bloom. In July 2016, the actor known for Pirates of the Caribbean was captured during his vacation in Italy by a unscrupulous photographer while he was not wearing any clothes. The 47-year-old Brit was paddle boarding, accompanied by Katy Perry, his girlfriend since 2016. He was kneeling and paddling, while his partner was seated at the front of the board, in a swimsuit. Very quickly, the uncensored images showing Orlando Bloom from all angles circulated around tabloids and social media.

Now, Katy Perry laughs about the incident. Invited to Heart FM on July 26, 2024, the singer flipped through a time capsule and stumbled upon a travel guide for Sardinia. Chuckling, she said: “Sardinia! I was just there, I just did a show there. And that’s also where everyone saw my partner’s intimate parts…” The journalist joked: “I think they should have paddle boarding in the Olympics.” To which the 39-year-old pop star bluntly responded: “He (Orlando Bloom, editor’s note) would definitely do it.

Photos of Orlando Bloom nude could have cost him dearly

In addition to having images of him nude circulating online forever, these photos could have cost Orlando Bloom a lot. Paddle boarding without any clothes, the actor violated a law on the Italian island. The father of a daughter, Daisy, with singer Katy Perry, was caught in the act of nudity. Naturism is strictly prohibited in certain areas of Sardinia, including the spot where the actor was photographed. He could have faced a heavy fine, amounting to the modest sum of 1,200 euros. But this hefty bill wouldn’t have bankrupted Katy Perry’s partner.
