Orlando Bloom joins David Harbor in the casting, his role

Barely days following learning of the arrival of David Harbor in one of the main roles of the film Gran Turismo, it is now the turn of another big name in Hollywood cinema to join the cast of the film, namely Orlando Bloom. The one who will forever remain Legolas in the collective mind has therefore agreed to join this story of a young racing driver who has gone from a simple Gran Turismo player on PlayStation to a real professional racing driver. A story that takes up what was done a few years ago with the GT Academy and which had allowed several players to participate in Grand Prix around the world. We also remember the victory of Romain Sarazin at the Nismo PlayStation GT Academy Europe in 2015 in Abu Dhabi, having made his debut on Gran Turismo 6 on PS3.

Orlando Bloom will play the role of a long-toothed marketing executive who works in the automotive world. A role quite different from those to which the actor has accustomed us so far, since he will undoubtedly have the wrong role in this adaptation. As for the young prodigy who will become the new car champion, it was Archie Madekwe who was chosen, he who we discovered in Midsommar or the TV series See (on Apple TV, with Jason Momoa). Shooting for the film kicks off next week in Europe.
PlayStation Productions’ Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan are producing the film, while Kazunori Yamauchi will serve as executive producer. Sony has scheduled a theatrical release on August 11, 2023.
