Orioles Crush Twins with 15-2 Victory: Anthony Santander Hits Two Home Runs

MINNEAPOLIS — Anthony Santander hit two of Baltimore’s six home runs and the Orioles completed a sweep of the Minnesota Twins with a 15-2 victory Sunday.

Aaron Hicks added a three-run homer once morest his former team in the Orioles’ seven-run fifth inning. Austin Hays, Ramón Urías and Adley Rutschman also homered for Baltimore.

After scoring seven runs in the fifth, the Orioles’ offense continued on pace in the sixth with six more runs. Rutschman, who will participate in the All-Star Home Run Derby on Monday in Seattle, hit a 461-foot drive in the top of the sixth off reliever Cole Sands.

Santander followed with a solo home run, the first time the Orioles have hit back-to-back home runs. He homered once more in the seventh, to reach his team-leading 16th for the year.

It’s the second time in four games that Baltimore has scored at least 14 runs. They did it once morest the Yankees in the last of their series, on Thursday.

For the Orioles, Venezuelan Anthony Santander 4-2, three runs scored and two RBIs. Mexican Ramón Urías 5-2, one scored and three produced.

For the Twins, Puerto Rican Christian Vázquez 3-0, Carlos Correa 1-0, one scored, José Miranda 1-1; and Willi Castro from 2-0.
