Orienteering race canceled after a man died in a fall accident in Narvik

The man was confirmed dead at the scene after a fall from the mountain Branten. He must have fallen several tens of meters.

Participant reported the accident

Will question the witness

The two-day orienteering race takes place in the border area between Norway and Sweden. The participants run in pairs, writes Dagbladet.

Relatives have been notified. The police will now carry out further investigations into what happened, and they want to question the runner who ran with the man who died.

– We want to question him, but he must first be able to do so. But there is nothing to indicate that this is anything other than a tragic accident, says operations manager Remi Johansen Forward.
