The owner was hosting a small party at her place when she left with her guests around 2 a.m. for Le Carré. Upon her return at 7 a.m., she found her front door forcibly opened and her place ransacked. Only a safe was missing, but it contained the significant amount of 50,000 euros in cash. The victim identified a young man who had visited her place the previous Saturday and was curious regarding the safe. The police arrested him, and his file has been submitted to the Liège prosecutor’s office with a request for an arrest warrant. It is unclear whether the stolen money has been recovered.

A suspect

According to the Liège prosecutor’s office, the victim quickly directed the investigation towards a young man born in 1998, who had come to his apartment the previous Saturday. She did explain that this person had come to her home and asked many questions regarding the safe in question. A suspicion towards one of his acquaintances, which proved to be successful, because if it is not known for the time being whether the money has been found, the elements of the investigation seemed sufficient to arrest this suspect.

The suspect was referred to the Liège prosecutor’s office on Thursday. His file has been placed under investigation and an application for an arrest warrant has been made once morest him.
