Food « bio » : where is your deontology, the Midi Dispatch?
(Source)
The Midi Dispatch published on March 16, 2023 an article with the peremptory title: “ These foods you should eat organic », under the signature of Mrs. Sarah Barbier.
It is indexed as follows: Home/Partner/Organic Supplements “. But in small, small!
What to deduce? Perhaps a newspaper – presumably a news medium – is marketing for a particular sector of food production, processing and distribution?
And how ! Second paragraph:
« If we might, we would buy everything organic. But for the tightest budgets, this is not always possible. Nevertheless, we do not ignore certain products, known to be full of pesticides. »
So here we are called upon to buy and consume bio » milk, strawberries, peaches, apples, eggs, lettuce, potatoes, peppers, cucumbers, spinach and celery.
Well, not exactly. The author varies the wording and manages to write for vegetables, for example, that ” it is better to favor their organic equivalent “. Phew!
The lesson of conditional conjugation has been well learned. But for the basics of journalism, which is fact-checking…

Here is the piece of bravery for the milk:
« If there is one food to buy organic, it is milk. Indeed, dairy products contain on average 5.5 times more pesticide residues than plants. The cause ? When the milk is not organic, the animals are fed with foodstuffs containing many chemicals. »
Note… we might reverse the argument: if the milk contains so few and so few pesticide residues, as shown by the analyzes compiled by theEFSA, is that there are even fewer of them in the plants »… Eat fruits and vegetables!
There is a note at the end of the article:
« The editorial staff did not participate in the creation of this content. »
Well… she just posted…
It’s curious… there’s a trivial expression running around in my head…
That’s out of 3,525 milk samples. Copper is not necessarily from a pesticide (which would probably be authorized in organic). DDT is a persistent pollutant. Other substances come from drinking water; they were included because they were formerly used as pesticides.
