According to him, the ORF wanted to emphasize the new program more when it started on January 13, 2019 – Norbert Hofer was the first studio guest – by separating the “ZIB2” formats by name. The quota might also be calculated separately.

According to Thür, around 700,000 people now follow the Sunday ZIB2 every weekend. “Even the first ZIB2S had insane ratings and even following that the interest remained high,” writes the TV journalist. “Sunday has become an extremely newsworthy day.”

Minister in the first new Sunday ZIB2

At the first “ZIB2” on Sunday without “on Sunday” in the new studio, Labor and Economics Minister Martin Kocher meets moderator Thür. According to his own statements, he has already moderated 167 times on the last day of the week: “78 percent of Sundays since Start. Hopefully there will be many more.”

Thür is certain that “many viewers will probably not even notice the small difference”. After all, (almost) everything is now the same as with the programs during the week. But one special feature remains: On Sundays, the “ZIB2” will continue to start at 9:50 p.m. instead of 10 p.m. sharp.
