The new streaming channel aims to offer 24-hour streaming services as well as the ability to access the content “on demand”. It is promised in a broadcast that it will be ad-free, non-violent and age-appropriate. It is also intended to encourage the youngest viewers to join in and have their say – “with information, knowledge, service, orientation and entertainment”.
These topics are the focus of “ORF Kids”.
Both exclusive new productions and classics from the current “okidoki” children’s program as well as carefully selected and popular animated children’s series will be shown. “The focus is on nature, technology, research, adventure, discovery and puzzles,” it continues. However, young people and families should not be left out either. There should be an “attractive range of films and series” on a regular basis for them.
These new formats also await on “ORF Kids”
ORF General Director Roland Weißmann sees “ORF Kids” as a “win-win situation for children and parents”. The aim is to reach the kids where they are – “at a time that suits them”. New formats for the new streaming channel will include “Science Busters for Kids”, “Klimakrach”, “YOGAKids”, “Kling Klang” or “This is how young Austria thinks”.
These films and series await you
Films and series should include “The Little Dragon Coconut”, “Laura’s Star”, “The Smurfs 3D”, “Simsala Grimm”, “Find Me in Paris” or “Theodosia”. From January 21st, a Sunday film will be shown every week, including well-known and popular series such as “Ostwind” or “Five Friends”.
