Ordinary statutory assembly of the Fbf: Major resolutions taken in Porto-Novo – 2024-02-09 20:19:36

The national football championship season 2023-2024 officially starts on September 30. This is one of the major decisions which sanctioned the statutory ordinary general assembly of the Beninese Football Federation (Fbf) which was held last Saturday, September 2, in Porto-Novo.

Football clubs and players are now set on the start date of the national championship season 2023-2024. Hostilities will be officially launched on Saturday September 30. The decision was taken during the work of the Ordinary Statutory General Assembly of the Beninese Football Federation (Fbf). Holding this Ag is a requirement of the texts to take stock of the past season. Postponed many times for various contingencies, the meetings finally took place last Saturday, September 2, at the Fbf headquarters in Porto-Novo. The work was attended by all the qualified actors of the decision-making body, namely the delegates of the clubs of the professional, amateur and women’s football leagues, as well as those of the associations of coaches and doctors. The main conclusions of the meeting were delivered by the general secretary of the Fbf, Claude Paqui, during a press briefing. According to him, in addition to the date chosen for the start of the championship, the executive committee of the Fbf, as provided for in the texts, submitted for the appreciation of the Ag the various reports, in particular the activity and financial reports of the fiscal year 2022-2023. The draft budget and the schedule of upcoming activities for the 2023-2024 season were then studied by the decision-making body. All these reports and files were unanimously approved and validated by the 76 participants present out of the 78 expected, informs Claude Paqui. However, indicates the general secretary of the Fbf, there is one question which has not been resolved. This is the thorny problem of the number of foreigners to be admitted to the professional football championship. Until then, the ceiling number is set at six foreign players. However, the trend today is to make a slight increase. “The concern has been put on hold for the moment,” informs Claude Paqui. The Ag gave a mandate to the executive committee of the Fbf to resolve the question and situate the assembly, in the very next days, on this question.
Repositioning The president of the Fbf, Mathurin de Chacus, was delighted that the 2022-2023 season, the first of his second mandate, made it possible to lay the foundations for the real development of round leather. “We must all be proud of what has been accomplished in one season,” confides Mathurin de Chacus before announcing the development of the four-year strategic plan 2023-2026 in order to have a compass and avoid visual navigation. As a reminder, this second mandate of Mathurin de Chacus was placed under the credo: “Go further” in the work of revitalizing and repositioning Beninese football on the international level. The work of the Ag was opened by the president of the National Olympic Sports Committee of Benin (Cnos-Benin), Julien Minavoa, in the presence of former presidents of the Fbf including Moucharaf Anjorin and Marius Dadjo, respectively honorary president and ambassador of the Fbf?
