A defenseless dog, affectionately known as “Beethoven,” was saved from death following being brutally attacked with a machete. However, a large wound was left on his face, causing bleeding.
This crime, considered cruel and inhumane abuse, occurred in the early hours of last Saturday in a house located on Rufino González Street, in the La Haciendita sector, in Cagua, Sucre municipality.
Unofficially, it was learned that the perpetrator was a 74-year-old citizen, who was upset by the animal’s barking, so he brutally hit it with a machete, causing a serious wound to its snout.
The owners of “Beethoven” rejected the cruelty and following receiving emergency medical attention, they decided to seek justice for the injured dog. The outrage was not only rejected by the authorities but also by the neighbors, who took the canine to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Caña de Azúcar so that a forensic veterinarian might perform the corresponding tests.
It was also learned that the perpetrator will be presented before the 20th Prosecutor’s Office of the Public Ministry in Aragua.
