Chennai ∙ 5 people, including a child, were arrested in the incident where the shop owner and the cook were beaten to death following the delay in the delivery of the ordered chicken rice. The incident took place in Tamil Nadu. Last night, a group of five reached the shop at Madurasamy Street, Perambur and asked for chicken rice. Due to the busyness of the shop, the preparation and delivery of the dish was delayed. With this, the 17-year-old boy joined together and launched an attack on the shop.

The gang smashed the tools, chairs etc. in the shop and then attacked the shop owner Karthik and the cooks. There was also an attempt to injure him with a knife. The police arrived and took all 5 people into custody. The child in the group was transferred to a child care center as per the court order. Others were remanded. 2 knives have been recovered from them.
