Order from Brussels’ Mayor forces Le Dolle Mol café to shut down operations for four days.

There have been complaints of nighttime noise at an establishment where bands frequently perform, causing the police to intervene. Despite the doors remaining closed, the bands allegedly play too loudly. As a result, the mayor of Brussels, Philippe Close, has ordered the closure of the “Dolle Mol” on several occasions, including June 8 and December 29, 2022, and most recently from April 30, 2023 until May 2, 2023 at 5 p.m.

On several occasions, the police had to intervene following complaints of nocturnal noise. The bands that perform in the establishment apparently play too loudly, even though the doors remain closed. Thus, in the recent past, the mayor of the City of Brussels, Philippe Close, ordered the closure of the “Dolle Mol”: on June 8 and December 29, 2022. And a third time on April 30, 2023 for a duration of four days, until Sunday April 2 at 5 p.m.

The closure of “Dolle Mol” highlights the importance of respecting residential areas and local regulations. While music and nightlife are important aspects of our social lives, they should not come at the cost of disturbing the peace of those around us. It’s essential for both venue owners and performers to ensure that their activities do not breach noise regulations, and to work closely with local authorities to address any concerns. Ultimately, a harmonious relationship between entertainment venues and their surrounding communities benefits everyone involved.
