As for economic relations, bilateral trade exceeded $9 billion last year, “but we don’t want to stop at this point.” The Prime Minister expressed confidence that with Trump as President, trade between Hungary and the USA would also receive new impetus. Orbán stated that the election campaign in the USA is in full swing. He does not want to interfere and respects the sovereign decision of the Americans. “But we Hungarians are happy to honestly admit that it would be better for the world and therefore for Hungary if Donald Trump returned to office as president.”
