Orange: star-making workshops to support the fight against cancer

Last year, the first edition of Starry marathon, for the benefit of the League against Cancer, raised €380 in Orange. This year, Valérie Raphanel, the initiator of the project, hopes to attract more people and thus raise more funds. For this second edition, she chose to improve the concept she had imagined and implemented. Manager of the My little fabric boutique and the restaurant La Sardine aux yeux bleus, she decided to combine her two businesses to organize fun activities.

Throughout the weekend, like last year, she is offering to come and make crocheted, embroidered or clay stars in her My little fabric boutique. “Then, thePeople can come and buy them, at the price they want, then put them on their tree, as decorations, hang them on gift packages“, imagine-t-elle. “This allows you to make a donation while leaving with something, it’s more concrete and it combines business with pleasure.“, she continues.

New this year, Valérie Raphanel is also offering a knitting race: “You will need to do as many stitches as possible in 3 minutes“, but also a waiter’s race: “Be careful not to spill anything on the tray“, warns the organizer. Without forgetting the making of maxi-waffles.

If Valérie Raphanel is also invested, it is because it is close to her heart: “We have all known someone who has suffered from cancer. And everyone helps in their own way, I need to act, to create projects.

All of the actions proposed make it possible to collect money, just like the sale of stars, “which continues until December 31“.

A beautiful and generous initiative.

All day long, making maxi waffles at La Sardine aux yeux bleus and making stars at My little fabric.
