Orange and yellow alert issued in five provinces due to strong storms

The National Meteorological Service (SMN) aired this Saturday two alerts that affect a total of five provinces of the national territory: one orange level per strong storms, gusts that might exceed 90 km/h and eventual hail for certain regions of the province of Córdoba and San Luis. At the same time, another yellow level alert is in effect, for storms of lower intensity for specific locations in the province of Buenos Aires, Santa Fe and La Rioja.

According to the agency’s report, the Córdoba localities affected by orange alert They are the low and mountain area of ​​Calamuchita and Santa María, the mountain area of ​​Río Cuarto, west of Pocho, San Alberto and San Javier.

The same warning was issued for some localities in the province of saint Louiswhich include the mountain and lower area of ​​Chacabuco and General Pedernera, as well as the lower area of ​​Libertador General San Martín.

What are the areas affected by yellow alert?

Due to lower intensity storms, the SMN issued yellow level alerts for much of the center and east of the province of Buenos Aires, the center of Córdoba, the north of San Luis, the south of La Rioja and part of Santa Fe.

These are areas where storms will be recorded, some locally strong, and will be accompanied by intense gusts, strong electrical activity, occasional hail and abundant water fall in short periods.
