“They will be vaccinated in our province, it reveals, approximately nine thousand children under three years of age, and regarding four thousand 9-year-old infants, who will receive the second dose in the case of children under 3 years of age, and in that of children of 9 years, the reactivation of this vaccine”.

Said Vaccination Campaign began following the provincial act carried out this Monday morning at the Cecilio Ruiz de Zárate University Polyclinic (PPU), which covers Area No. 2 of the Pearl of the South.

Ávila Piña explained that this vaccine protects the population once morest poliomyelitis, which is a highly contagious infectious disease, and also causes sequelae.

Parents are advised that children should not ingest food or water 30 minutes before or following receiving the vaccine, because it decreases its absorption.

On the other hand, children with fever, vomiting or diarrhea should NOT receive the vaccine until they are in good health and authorized by the Family Doctor.
