Books – Youssef Afifi:
During the month of Ramadan, the demand for sweets increases continuously following breakfast and at suhoor, then going to sleep and neglecting to brush teeth, especially children and young people.
Dr. Ahmed Ashraf, a dentist, launched an initiative to protect children’s teeth from decay, and to encourage mothers to take care of the health of their children’s teeth and mouth during the holy month of Ramadan.
Ashraf said in a post on Facebook, that the initiative is not limited to children only, but includes all ages as well, through continuous posts on social networking sites through the Instagram platform, through which he explains the appropriate methods for brushing teeth, and their importance before bedtime and following eating. Every meal, saying: During Ramadan, many people neglect the health of their teeth, because of eating sweets, so there must be awareness of oral health.
And the dentist encourages, through the social networking site, to pay attention to oral health throughout the days of the year, especially children, following: “A large number of people do not take care of the health of their teeth until following a long period. And always clean the mouth.”
Ashraf talked regarding caring for the health of the child’s teeth and mouth from a young age, which contributes to the growth of his strong teeth and protects him from decay, calling for a quick visit to the doctor if the child suffers from any dental problems or molar pain.
Many people want to have clean and strong teeth, so they are keen to take care of them on a daily basis, but some do a lot of wrong habits unintentionally, which negatively affect the health of their teeth and may even lead to their complete destruction.
And according to what was mentioned by the “health” website, oral health is linked to the health of the entire body, which means that problems with the teeth and gums can lead to other health problems such as heart disease, stroke, and more.
