Options for traveling to and from Venezuela

The president of the Venezuelan Association of Travel and Tourism Agencies (Avavit), Vicky Herrera De Díaz, expressed her concern about the suspension of flights to and from Venezuela from Panama and the Dominican Republic, as well as from Peru.

“Copa has suggested three possibilities: cancelling, changing the date or route, or issuing a refund, which it warns could take a while due to the circumstances,” he added.

Herrera explained that the rest of the airlines are opting for the possibility of maintaining the ticket for a year, so that the date can be changed once the situation in Venezuela is resolved.

In this regard, he recommended that travelers buy tickets from travel agencies for advice.

Regarding Curacao as an option, he said that it is complex due to the visa issue and the connection with another airline with which there are no agreements.

“Copa had enabled 4 flights from Cúcuta, those who have a flight with this airline can check their itinerary and try to arrive through San Antonio or Santo Domingo in Táchira” he added.
