After a lunch with friends, while playing mime, Hervé, a tall, 42-year-old man, feels unwell. He is conscious but has difficulty speaking, his mouth twists, one of his arms no longer responds. After a few long minutes, his friends called 15. Hervé said a stroke. But between the discomfort and the intervention of thrombectomy (medical technique which consists of unblocking the cerebral artery) at the hospital, three hours will pass…

This short film scenario (to watch ici), on the initiative of Professor Vincent Costalat, head of the neuroradiology department, and Doctor Caroline Arquizan, is inspired by a true story, a case encountered in Montpellier. Hervé is played by an actor from French soap operas; doctors, for their part, belong to theGui de Chauliac hospital in Montpellier.

In the middle of the film, “rewind” effect: we rewind to start the story from scratch. This time, optimal organization. A gain of 97 minutes, “or 192 million neurons, 1,200 trillion synapses and 1,200 km of myelin sheaths”, specifies the video. Indeed, in the event of a stroke, every minute counts. “Losing 30 minutes in treatment and diagnosis means 15% less chance of being independent following a loss of brain volume, and therefore of functions,” recalls Professor Costalat.
