Optimistic Outlook: Summer Vacation Trends and Affordable Destinations Revealed

For this last weekend of July, Bison-Futé announces orange in the direction of departures and returns for this Friday, July 28.

Saturday, it will be red in the direction of departures. Halfway through the summer vacation, the balance sheet is rather positive, despite the heat and inflation, as our colleagues from RTL France.

Indeed, tourists have adapted, and professionals in the sector are optimistic, especially holiday clubs, which have been filling up for three weeks, despite inflation. At Belambra, for example, attendance is up compared to last year, according to Alexis Gardy, the group’s president: “It’s an anti-inflation weapon somewhere. As you are in an all-inclusive formula, you have 100% control of your budget and you are safe from unpleasant surprises. Afterwards, what we see is that on peripheral expenditure, we feel a bigger reserve“.

The rise in prices has also reshuffled the cards of destinations, estimated Nicolas Beaurain, general manager of the Maeva platform, which offers reservations for campsites and private residences: “We have a real success in the mountains, which took 25% growth in reservations compared to last year for the month of July. On the Atlantic coast, Vendée and Brittany are doing well. It is a little less good for Mediterranean destinations“.

Vacationers favored less expensive vacation spots, and with milder temperatures, hence this slight decline towards the Côte-d’Azur and Corsica.
