PT Bank Negara Indonesia (BNI) won the award as Best Indonesian Bank in Hong Kong for Serving the Indonesian Diaspora from the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in Hong Kong. The award was received by BNI Hong Kong General Manager Farid Faraitody.
“This is in line with the spirit wondr is everywhere which is being carried by wonder by BNI throughout this year. “Through this international campaign, wondr by BNI has succeeded in providing banking solutions, empowerment and financial literacy in various big cities in the world such as Amsterdam, Seoul, Tokyo, Osaka, Washington DC, Singapore and Hong Kong as the final city,” said BNI Hong Kong General Manager Farid. Faraitody through a written statement, Monday (11/11).
Through the wonder by BNI platform, the Company is considered to have provided services that are not only easy to access, but are also designed to support the specific financial, educational and entrepreneurial needs of Indonesian communities abroad.

On the same occasion, the Indonesian Consul General in Hong Kong, Yul Edison, said that the award was given because BNI was considered consistent in supporting the Indonesian people in realizing their financial dreams wherever they were.
“It is hoped that the presence of wondr by BNI will support the Indonesian diaspora in Hong Kong to achieve their financial dreams and aspirations so that they continue to contribute positively to the national economy,” said Yul Edison.
Currently the number of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) in Hong Kong continues to increase. As of May 2024, there are more than 172,000 PMIs recorded in Hong Kong, and 51% of them are BNI customers. BNI mobile banking transactions by PMI have also increased from 1.15 million transactions in 2022 to 2 million transactions by the end of 2023.
