Vienna – Chancellor Karl Nehammer (ÖVP) announced in the ORF “summer talk” on Monday that he wanted to invest 4.5 billion euros in the expansion of childcare by 2030. Family Minister Susanne Raab confirmed this at a press conference on Tuesday. This is intended to create 50,000 additional places. The plan is now going into the financial equalization negotiations between the federal and state governments, said Raab, who wants to guarantee a “real choice” in shaping everyday family life.
